In June of 2011, 9-year-old Jakob “J.J” Peters was swimming with friends in a private pond when he drowned. On June 12, 2013, Forrest B. Johnson & Associates filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the Superior Court of Terrell County against Owen Parnacott, the owner of the six-foot deep man-made pond where young Jakob drowned.
During the early morning hours of March 25, 2013, firefighters were called to investigate smoke inside the Rosewood Nursing Center on Finney Circle in Macon, Georgia. Upon investigation, a fire was discovered in the mechanical room. Smoke filled the room of a nursing home resident woman. Tragically, she suffered fatal smoke inhalation.
Monday, April 22, 2013, an Agnes Barden Elementary School kindergarten student was headed home from school. While walking, the 5-year-old was struck and fatally injured by a Bibb County school bus near her Bloomfield Road home.
On April 29, 2013, 22 year-old Kenyotta LaShay Jones was struck and killed on Eisenhower Parkway by a street sweeper negligently operated by James Matthew Brown. Evidence shows that Mr. Brown failed to maintain a proper lookout while operating his street sweeper.
