Forrest B. Johnson, a native Floridian, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1975 and a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University in 1978. He is a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. In 1979, Forrest was admitted to the Florida Bar.
He began his career as an Assistant State Attorney in Jacksonville, Florida, where he served as an adjunct professor at Jones Business College and Florida Community College in Jacksonville. Florida. While there, he was also president of the D.W. Perkins Bar Association. Forrest entered the private practice of law in 1982 when he opened his law office in Jacksonville, Florida, focusing on medical malpractice, personal injury, auto accidents, tractor trailer collisions, wrongful death and product liability.
In 1987, Forrest was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. He opened an office in Atlanta, Georgia in 1988. Forrest is licensed to practice law in Florida and Georgia State Courts. He is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Courts of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
Forrest is an active lifetime member of the National Bar Association. He is the recipient of the National Bar Association’s Presidential Award and the Small Firms and Solo Practitioner’s Outstanding Service Award. He is a frequent presenter of continuing legal education workshops for the Small Firms and Solo Practitioner’s Division of the National Bar Association.
Forrest is an active member of the Gate City Bar Association. He was the recipient of the Gate City Bar Association’s A.T. Walden Outstanding Lawyer Award in 2009 and inducted into the Gate City Bar Association’s Hall of Fame in 2011. He is also an active member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
Forrest is a frequent speaker on the topics of successful law firm management, emerging trial techniques and trends, and personal injury litigation. He has lectured at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (N.I.T.A.) at Emory University, School of Law. Forrest has also been a guest speaker/presenter for the Young Lawyers Division, State Bar of Georgia, and a guest speaker/presenter for the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. He is always happy to share his expertise and experience and has mentored countless new attorneys and college students who have expressed an interest in becoming lawyers.
Forrest has won over $200 million dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients during his legal career. Forrest attributes his success to his tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence.
